How time flies! Another MAP testing comes next week to see how much progress students have made during the past 3 months. American universities are putting increasing emphasis on MAP results because they can reflect student’s academic growth in different angles.
On Dec. 24thcomes the Flea Market. The money we collect this time will be donated to Shanghai Healing Home once again according to the vote by the middle school students. The organization is committed to taking in abandoned disabled babies and provides them with recovery operations based on the funds they get besides raising them. A G1 student wrote about TAS helping the abandoned babies emotionally when given the topic “Shanghai in my eyes” with the material of what we did last year.
A lot of creations by students will appear in the Flea Market. Besides, we welcome students to orders some necessary goods for sale. They may learn some basic knowledge in market economy such as product selection, price setting and advertising, etc. G1 and G2 parents are welcomed to give directions at the scene. There is a limit of 5 volunteers for each class.
We will take vouchers as the currency of the Flea Market which will be for sale at the school gate from 3:30 to 4:00 in Dec 18th, 19th, and 20th. We hope you may participate actively! Welcome to purchase students’ products after 2 o’clock on Dec 24thwith the vouchers in your hands so that students have a chance to help those kids in Shanghai Healing Home realize their beautiful dreams with their own efforts.
It’s getting even colder next week. May you all be in good health.
