Good day, dear parents,
The temperature has dropped dramatically this week, while the heat of passion in learning never fades!
The Confucius once said, “only in cold days can we realize the vitality of pines and cypresses.” (the Analects of Confucius, Chapter Zihan, Verse 9) The magical nature nurtures its treasures of every season at the right time and even bears new lives in the freezing days! The most amazing thing in the world is the growth of children whose spirit and beauty surprise me from time to time. Some of them cast themselves into studying all of a sudden, some get to know their responsibilities at a certain moment, and some start to serve others initiatively at some turning point which has never been expected. Our students are shining out unconsciously after being soaked in the value of TAS that we value truth, excellence, respect, impact, unification and society service. Those are the lights which beautify the world.
The character theme this month is generosity.
Ayis said it was worthwhile to serve these children no matter how tiring because there were always some students who made cards and thanked them.
Students brought birthday cake for a G2 teacher last week. Thank parents for your preparation and the expression of love! Here’s a friendly reminder to all of you: it’s a bless for teachers to enjoy the birthday cakes brought by students, but please do not do that except the Christmas December. Thank you all!
A good school comes from great teachers! In the past week, our teachers observed and commented on each other’s classes and we had open classes almost every day. The teachers who gave open class were so well prepared. They collected teaching materials, arranged teaching activities, helped students to acquire new knowledge and cultivated their ability in thinking and expressing vividly and enlighteningly. After the classes, some teachers gave feedbacks to help them be better.
Art is a fine way for people to show their spirits and emotions. True art can not only cultivate the taste but also develop the character. TAS values the art education very much. We’ve mentioned the art education of lower grades before and now comes that of the higher ones.
Students have learnt many skills in drawing and the use of comprehensive materials in the senior grades’ art classes. They have tried sandpaper painting, stippling, printmaking, butterfly-bone barter and continuous patterns. In the theme of Africa, middle school students made African tribal masks, neck rings and lions which shows distinct African features. When it came to the Christmas, middle school students made a lot of excellent handmade decorations. Students’ taste and manipulative ability are trained during the learning process. Besides, their interest in art elevates as well. We feel fulfilled every time we look at the art creations on the wall.
Keep warm in the gorgeous snow!
May you be filled with peace and joy!
