Our 9th grade students, Anna Cao and Esther Wang, created a heart warming video of why students and staff love TAS. Their video was among the top five winners of our Transformation Academy creativity challenge of 2019.
TAS took part in the spirit of generosity this past Monday during their annual Flea Market. During this market we saw students coming together in order to sell their products they have and made as a class in order to help others. The flea market does not only teach students business skills but generosity as well because all of the money raised will be donated to charity. Students at TAS recognize that their hard work and efforts were vital in raising money to help others.
Our middle school students voted on which charity the funds would be donated to and they have decided to give to The Shanghai Healing Home (SHH). SHH is a non-profit foster home assisting local Chinese Children’s Welfare Institutes by providing pre and post-surgical care to abandoned Chinese orphan babies born with surgically correctable deformities. SHH provides a home-like environment for the babies in order to meet their physical, emotional, and developmental needs. This year our students were able to raise 70,000 RMB for SHH. We are so proud of our students’ hard work which will changes babies lives forever!
The TAS students put on a great performance during the annual choir concert. They worked hard for months preparing and rehearsing and their hard work paid off. We cannot wait to see what is in store for next year’s concert!
Thank you to all staff and everyone who came in support of our students!
For the past few weeks the 6th grade class has been using their time to serve the other grades. They have been helping teachers and students with studying, organizing, and various other tasks needed. We are thankful for their positive attitudes and loving hearts.
Over this past weekend 3rd and 4th grade students took time out of their busy schedules to serve at the Shanghai Healing Home. The students were able to play with children as well as feed them lunch. Everyone had a great time and our students at TAS were able to learn a lot through their service.
